Revved up over Runestone Days

The community of Kensington – and visitors near and far – celebrated Runestone Days with a variety of activities last weekend, including a parade on Sunday afternoon. Sara Yochim of Hoffman, who was an honors graduate this past May at Alexandria Technical College and is an employee of First State Bank of Kensington, handed out candy during the parade. Norm Salto of Alexandria, a former Douglas County sheriff, worked his 1938 John Deere “G” in an antique tractor pull on Sunday. Salto finished third in his tractor’s weight class with a pull of 251 feet, five inches. Photos courtesy of Randy O. Olson, Hoffman Tribune.
