His off-tone vocals and odd dance moves have made him a world-wide phenomenon, and now the one-time American Idol contestant is taking his act to Alexandria.
William Hung, known infamously for his poor rendition of Ricky Martin’s “She Bangs”, will perform and sign autographs at Knute Nelson Park before and during the baseball game between the Alexandria Beetles and Rochester Honkers on Thursday, June 25, at 6:05 p.m.
Hung will be available to meet and greet fans before the ballgame; gates to the park open at 5:05 p.m. Then, watch for Hung all evening long, as he performs some of his greatest hits during the game.
First pitch for the ballgame is set for 6:05 p.m. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at the Beetles Office, 1210 Broadway #100, at the ballpark prior to all home games, or by calling (320) 763-8151.
One of the greatest baseball players to ever suit up for the Minnesota Twins is coming to Knute Nelson Park. The Alexandria Beetles are proud to announce three-time Major League Baseball batting champion Tony Oliva will headline “Minnesota Twins Night” at the ballpark on July 30. Oliva will be on hand before the game to sign autographs and meet fans, and will also throw out the first pitch. Gates open at 5:05 p.m., first pitch is at 6:05 p.m.
In 1964, Oliva earned Rookie of the Year honors, hitting .323 with a career high 43 doubles and 109 runs scored. He won batting titles in 1964 and 1965, becoming the only player in MLB history to win back-to-back batting titles in the first two years of a career.
In 1991, Oliva had his jersey retired; his picture and number six still hang from the Metrodome rafters.
“Twins Night” will also feature ‘TC’, the official team mascot, and Sue Nelson, the Twins’ organist.
Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at the Beetles Office, 1210 Broadway #100, at the ballpark prior to all home games, or by calling 320-763-8151.
