Twin Cities jazz vocalist Christine Rosholt is making a return engagement to Alexandria this Saturday, June 20.

The event will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. at Sixth Avenue Wine and Ale, 115 6th Avenue East in Alexandria. There is no cover charge.

Having impressed the natives on April 30 at Sixth Avenue Wine and Ale while performing with the jazz band “Finestra,” Rosholt and the band were invited back to entertain and delight once again.

The band, Finestra, consists of three musicians – Jay Johnson on piano, Bryan Poyzer on bass and Wally Warhol on trumpet.

Guests can expect a swingin’ evening of timeless jazz standards performed in a beautiful and intimate setting.

Rosholt represents a fresh voice in jazz and has established herself as a top jazz vocalist in the Twin Cities music community and beyond.

With a style and an artistry all her own, along with a voice to match, Rosholt has charmed and impressed countless guests at numerous Twin Cities venues, including Orchestra Hall, The Minnesota State Fair, Bloomington Jazz Festival, Jazzed Up Fridays with the St. Paul Orchestra, the Ordway Center for Performing Arts, Hot Summer Jazz Festival, as well as many other venues such as museums, hotels, galleries, hospitals, fundraisers, weddings and corporate functions.

Her debut CD, Detour Ahead, was nominated as the best jazz CD of the year in the 2006 Minnesota Music Awards.

Last December, she released a new CD, Lipstick – Live at the Dakota, which has been receiving high praise.
