Truck catches fire, scorches pole
A pickup caught on fire on Nokomis Street in Alexandria Friday afternoon, creating flames, smoke, a smoldering power pole but no injuries.

Firefighters sprayed water on a pickup truck that caught fire on Nokomis Street Friday. The fire spread to a nearby power pole and that, too, was extinguished.
A pickup caught on fire on Nokomis Street in Alexandria Friday afternoon, creating flames, smoke, a smoldering power pole but no injuries.
The 2002 Dodge Ram was registered to Nancy Bunde of Parkers Prairie, according to the Alexandria Police Department.
The incident happened near 8th Avenue at about 2:30 p.m.
When Alexandria firefighters arrived on the scene, they found the pickup fully engulfed in flames.
The fire, which started underneath the hood, spread to a nearby power pole. Firefighters also doused the pole with water and Alexandria Light and Power was contacted.
Traffic was rerouted around the area until the vehicle was towed away.
