John O’s Dinner Theatre in Brooten will present the comedy, The Arranged Marriage, on the next two weekends.

Show dates are June 12-14 and June 19-21. Friday and Saturday performances begin seating at 5 p.m. for supper with a show time of 7:30 p.m. Sunday performances begin seating at 2:30 p.m. for the meal with a show time of 4:30 p.m.

The dinner and the show cost $30 per person. Tickets for the show only cost $17.50 per person.

Here is a brief synopsis of the show:

Ronald Schmidt has left his bride at the altar to attend an urgent meeting at Dr. Shaw’s office.

Diana Henderson has left her groom at the altar to attend the same meeting.

Both hope it’s about inheriting the late doctor’s fortune, but all that the two strangers find are Shaw’s ashes in an urn and Shaw’s assistant.

To qualify for their legacy, the assistant tells the pair they must be handcuffed together for 24 hours.

Once alone, they argue, then kiss and eventually break the handcuffs.

The assistant then returns with the jilted bride and groom who were left at the respective altars. Laughs abound as the couples confront each other.

The hour-long production begs the question, “Are marriages actually made – or arranged – in heaven?”

Reservations can be made by calling John-O’s Dinner Theatre at (320) 346-4330. For other upcoming entertainment offerings at John-O’s, visit its website at www.myjohnos.com.
