Cardinal seniors from this past year Sam Dale and Ari Carlson both helped lead their Mizuno Minnesota Junior Olympic volleyball team to a pair of national qualifying wins recently.
Their team won the Hoosiers Mideast qualifier in Indianapolis in March for a spot in the Open Division (highest level), defeating last year's national champions.
They also competed in the Northern Lights qualifier at the Minneapolis Convention Center in April, rallying back from a 1-0 deficit to win in a tiebreaker and move to the championships.
There, they swept their final opponent for their second national qualifier championship. Their team is now ranked No. 3 in the nation and will compete at the national tournament July 1-4 in Miami Beach, Florida.
