Glenwood woman wins home makeover from KSAX-TV

KSAX-TV in conjunction with ABC Extreme Home Makeover, American Dream Edition Contest has declared its local winner.

Kristi Wilson of Glenwood was the lucky winner of this special online contest. She has won $5,000 for her family for much-needed home repairs. Wilson had entered the contest online at ksax.com.

When asked what this money would mean, she said it would help with their bills and get them back on track with home improvements.

She was also given the task of choosing a non-profit organization as part of this promotion. Wilson chose Someplace Safe of Glenwood, which also received a check for $5,000 to aid in their efforts to help victims of domestic violence.

Someplace Safe of Glenwood hosted a Ladies of All Ages Tea Fundraiser on May 2 at the Community Center in Glenwood that ABC Extreme Makeover American Dream Edition helped fund.

Bill Nettleton of Alexandria Motor Company heard about the Wilsons’ story and was moved by all that Kristi has done for so many foster children, even with all their challenges they’ve faced.

When he heard that their mini van needed repair work, he immediately stepped up and offered Alexandria Motor Company’s services free of charge.
