ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
2009 MUNICIPAL STATE AID AND LOCAL STREET IMPROVEMENTS
ALEXANDRIA, MINNESOTA
Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the Alexandria City Council, at the Alexandria City Hall, 704 Broadway, Alexandria, Minnesota, until 11:00 a.m. on July 7, 2009 at which time all bids will be opened and read aloud for the furnishing of all materials, skill, labor and all else necessary for the 2009 Municipal State Aid and Local Street Improvements project in Alexandria, Minnesota.
Major items include the following approximate quantities:
14,850 SY – Mill Bituminous Surface
3,140 Ton – Bituminous Pavement
672 LF – Curb & Gutter
Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or a bidders bond acceptable to the Alexandria City Council in an amount of at least five (5%) percent of the total amount of the bid, payable without condition to the Alexandria City Council. In case the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract or to give bond as required by law within the specified number of days after the award of the contract, such check or bond shall be forfeited as liquidated damages.
Copies of the Plans and Specifications are on file and may be seen at the City of Alexandria, and obtained from the Engineer, at Widseth Smith Nolting & Associates, Inc., 610 Fillmore St., Alexandria, Minnesota, upon deposit of $45.00 which is not refundable.
All bids must be submitted on the official forms, prepared by the Engineer for that purpose. Bids shall be directed to the City Administrator, securely sealed and endorsed upon the outside with a brief statement as to the work for which the bid is made.
The Alexandria City Council reserves the right to hold all bids for a period of sixty (60) days after the scheduled closing time set for receiving bids and to reject any and all bids and to award the contract as the District deems in their best interest.
