Dave Hart, computer science instructor at Alexandria Technical College, was presented the Advisor of the Year 2009 award at the Business Professionals of America (BPA) State Leadership Conference.

He was nominated by student members of the Alexandria Technical College BPA chapter.

Hart has been an active advisor and advocate for BPA students for eight years. In his role as advisor, he offers guidance in officer team meetings, participates in student club meetings, and contributes in club community service projects and fundraising. A large part of his advisor duties also include preparing students for state and national BPA competitions. Hart has also served as a state BPA board member for five years.

Business Professionals of America is a national organization of students preparing for careers in business and information technology.
