Minnewaska girls win West Central South golf titleThe Minnewaska girls had all six golfers earn All-WCCS honors
Emily Roering’s 4-under-par 32, a career record for the Laker senior, led the Minnewaska girls’ golf team a 41-stroke victory Thursday at Montevideo and a clean sweep of all West Central South Conference meets this season.
It was the 55th straight meet victory for the Lakers, who also had junior Sarah Roering shoot a 1-under-par 35.
In all, Minnewaska had four of the top five golfers at The Crossing Golf Club, and five of the top seven.
The Lakers finished as conference champions with 81 points, 13 points ahead of second place Benson-KMS.
E. Roering was the conference medalist for the year with a 36.0 average, while S. Roering was second with a 73.5.
Laker Allie Ostrander was third with a 39.25 average, Brianna Janu fourth with a 42.13 and Sam Falk fifth with a 42.75. Alexis Guggisberg finished 13th in the conference standings.
All six golfers earned WCCS All-Conference honors.
