Tennis team sends three to sections

Reggie Ronning and Connor Illies finished first in the Sub-section individual tennis tournament to advance to the section tournament in Startell and St. Cloud next Tuesday.

Luke Eberly finished fourth at singles, also moving on to the section.

Softball team falls

Brained handed Alexandria a 7-0 loss Thursday at Bemidji in the Section 8AA-North tournament, ending the Cardinals’ season.

Alexandria was able to pick up just two hits in the game.

Dani Bany suffered the pitching loss.

Card track teams third, fourth

The Cardinal girls finished third and the boys fourth at the Central Lakes Conference track and field championships in Brainerd.

Rosey Erickson won the 100 and 200-meter dashes in 12.50 and 25.47, and also the long jump with a distance of 17-4, Jamie Piepenburg won the 3,200 in 11:00.74 and Mallory Stier won the shot put with a distance of 34-7.25.

Drew Paradis won the 3,200-meter run in 9:21.83, while Bobby Guetter won the shot put with a throw of 47-10.75 and Thomas Quist won the discus with a 149-2.
