Douglas County 4-H held the annual Share the Fun contest May 3 at Osakis High School.
Share the Fun promotes fun and teamwork, encourages creativity, recognizes talent, promotes confidence, develops public presentation skills and provides opportunities for multi-aged interaction.
Six clubs performed skits and five youth performed talent selections.
Clubs receiving Awards of Merit included: Lake Mary Troopers for “Clover Fair Soup,” and GoBees for “The Bee.”
Clubs receiving Awards of Excellence were: Spruce Hill Rangers for “Old MacDonald’s Problem;” Fancy Farmers for “Camp 4 Leaf Clover;” Moe 4-H for “The 4-H Challenge;” and the Liberty Livewires for “Radio Show.”
Special Awards went to Moe 4-H Club for Most Original, Liberty Livewires for Most Entertaining, Spruce Hill Rangers for Best Costume and Fancy Farmers for Best 4-H Theme.
The Spruce Hill Rangers 4-H Club was the winner of the State Fair trip, with the Liberty Livewires selected as the alternate.
The following youth received Awards of Excellence for their talent selections: Molly Maudal of Carlos, Liberty Livewires, for her piano solo Fur Elise; Sebastian Ahumada of Alexandria, Go Bees, for his piano solo of Moonlight Sonata; Katie Friederichs of Alexandria, Lake Mary Troopers, for her piano solo Bohemian Rhapsody; Cody Lund of Evansville, Moe, for his banjo solo of Cripple Creek and Samantha Hoppe of Miltona, Spruce Hill Rangers for her vocal solo of Teddy Bear.
First place was awarded to Sebastian Ahumada, 2nd place was awarded to Cody Lund and 3rd place was awarded to Molly Maudal.
