Baseball: Cardinals fall to Rocori in CLC
The Spartans jumped to an early lead and held Alexandria to just four hits in the 7-1 loss
The Alexandria baseball team fell back to .500 with a 7-1 loss to Rocori last Thursday night.
The Spartans jumped out early with four runs in the first three innings. They never looked back from there as they limited the Cardinals to just four hits in the game. Ross Thompson drove in the only run of the game for Alexandria with a double that brought home Karl Brezina in the fourth inning. Dalton Leuschke, Parker Giroux and Colin Erickson all added a hit apiece.
Erickson took the loss on the mound. He went 4 2/3 innings, allowing three earned runs on five hits and five walks. He struck out six. Ben Vogeler provided 1 1/3 innings of no-hit relief. He struck out three.
The Cardinals fell to 8-8 with the loss and 6-6 in Central Lakes Conference.
