Take a ride for Habitat for Humanity: Motorcycle, bicycle ride planned
Habitat for Humanity is planning its 3rd annual motorcycle and bicycle ride. This year, the ride, which is being held in conjunction with Awake the Lakes, will take place Sunday, May 24.
Habitat for Humanity is planning its 3rd annual motorcycle and bicycle ride.
This year, the ride, which is being held in conjunction with Awake the Lakes, will take place Sunday, May 24.
The ride will start and end at Big Ole Central Park with motorcyclists taking a ride around the chain of lakes and bicyclists riding on the Central Lakes Trail.
At 12:30 p.m., registration will begin and the silent auction will open.
A prayer for the safety of all riders will take place at 1:15 p.m. with the ride set to begin at 1:30 p.m.
Riders should plan to be back at Big Ole Central Park at 2:30 p.m., which is when the motorcycle games and bicycle rodeo for children is set to begin. The games and rodeo are presented by the Alexandria Bike and Ski Club.
At 3:30 p.m., there will be a Habitat for Humanity raffle for a 125cc mini-chopper and an Alexandria Bike and Ski Club raffle for children’s bicycles.
The silent auction tables will close at 4 p.m. Music will be presented by 57 Chevy from 4 to 6 p.m. and there will be food and beverages available for purchase.
