Boys' golf: Minnewaska results

The Minnewaska boys’ golf team finished eighth at the Benson West Central South Conference golf meet last Thursday.

Pierce Peters tied for fifth individually with six other players. He carded a 41 to lead the Lakers’ scoring. Cody Blakeman finished with a 44, while Joe Buysse and Dylan Buckingham carded rounds of 47 and 49, respectively.

Yellow Medicine East finished first with a team score of 165.

Peters medalist

Pierce Peters tied for medalist honors with a 37, but the Minnewaska boys’ golf team finished seventh in the West Central South Conference meet at Island Pine Golf Club on Tuesday.

Yellow Medicine East won the meet with a team score of 161, while BOLD and Morris tied with scores of 167. BOLD took second by winning a fifth-score tiebreaker.

Cody Blakeman and Joe Buysse shot a 46 and 47 for the Lakers. Dylan Buckingham carded a 50 to round out the top four scorers for Minnewaska.

The Lakers sit in fifth place in the conference standings after six meets. They have 31 points, compared to first place Benson-KMS’ 44.
