Gronseth throws no-hitter for Tigers

Mike Gronseth dominated the Kensington lineup as the Miltona pitcher threw a no-hitter to guide the Tigers to a 10-0 win this past Saturday.

Gronseth did not allow a ball out of the infield and walked just one in the game. He struck out six and used some help from his infield to secure the no-hitter. Tyler Erickson saved the bid in the seventh inning when he charged what looked to be an infield hit and threw out the runner.

The Tigers’ offense gave Gronseth plenty of run support to work with as they pounded out 13 hits. Erickson led his team at the plate with three hits. Tom Steidl had two hits, including the only extra base hit with a double in the second inning. Keith Eckoff and Mitch Kluver both had two hits as well, while Ryan Emter, Kevin Engebretson, Justin Walsh and Gronseth added one hit apiece.

Miltona moved to 2-0 with the win. They will be home tomorrow, Saturday, as the Tigers host Ashby at Bernie Steidl Field in Miltona. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. They round out their weekend with another home game on Sunday against Osakis.
