Construction under way on County Roads 11 and 42

Construction on Douglas County Roads 11 and 42 has begun.

Construction on Douglas County Roads 11 and 42 has begun.

According to Douglas County Public Works Director Dave Robley, tree clearing is completed and erosion control items installed. Utility relocation has begun at the south limits of the project and will be conducted this week.

Robley noted that on Monday, May 11, County Road 11 will be closed at the Carlos/Darling Bridge and County Road 42 will be closed just north of the Indian Mounds intersection.

All traffic north of these locations will be required to use the detours.

County Roads 11 and 34 are detoured around the west side of Lake Darling and County Road 42 is detoured around the east side of Lake L’Homme Dieu.

Businesses and residents within the construction limits will have to access the area from the south on County Road 42.

Access to all businesses and homes will be maintained during construction and additional signing to help guide motorists will be provided.

“The patience and cooperation of everyone affected during this greatly-needed improvement is appreciated,” said Robley.
