Out with the old clutter
Many Alexandria yards and basements are looking less cluttered now, thanks to the city’s Free Metal Pick Up Day, which took place last Tuesday.
Many Alexandria yards and basements are looking less cluttered now, thanks to the city’s Free Metal Pick Up Day, which took place last Tuesday. Residents filled out a form listing the items they wanted removed and city crews picked up the metal and took everything to Jack’s Family Recycling in Alexandria. From there, workers, including those shown above, separated the items to be recycled. About 68 truckloads of metal were hauled away this year – up from last year’s 45 loads. A total of 493 forms were filled out.
