The Relay For Life of Douglas County hosted a Douglas County Survivors Social at Broadway Ballroom on April 26.

The event brought together survivors of cancer and their caregivers.

The guest speaker was Barb Russell, a cancer survivor and one of the three honorary survivors at this year’s Relay For Life event on July 10-11 at Citizen’s Field at Jefferson High School from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

The Relay For Life brings together people to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost and empower individuals and communities to fight back against the disease.

Relay brings people together from all walks of life to raise much-needed funds and awareness. No matter who you are, there’s a place for you at the relay, organizers note.
