Pro Staff releases results of economic survey

Pro Staff recently released the results of an economic recovery survey sent to more than 9,000 Minnesota firms to learn how area businesses are coping with the current economic situation.

Pro Staff recently released the results of an economic recovery survey sent to more than 9,000 Minnesota firms to learn how area businesses are coping with the current economic situation.

More than 70 percent of the companies revealed that production and sales have decreased as a result of the economy.

A large majority of the survey respondents, from a wide range of industries, indicated they are currently operating with a reduced workforce, decreased budgets and wary employees.

“Businesses are also increasingly faced with slow-paying customers, which can make maintaining a business even more taxing,” said Greg Jensen, general manager. “The results of this survey suggest that although economic confidence has diminished, these same companies are optimistic they will see production and revenue improvement during the next 12 months.”

The survey also reports that 76 percent of the companies are using this economic down time wisely.
