Solid waste management to host open house today, Wednesday
An Earth Day open house will take place today, Wednesday, at the Pope/Douglas Solid Waste Management facility.
An Earth Day open house will take place today, Wednesday, at the Pope/Douglas Solid Waste Management facility at 2115 South Jefferson Street in Alexandria.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will include tours of the waste-to-energy facility, along with coffee and cookies.
Those who go will learn more about recycling, composting, household hazardous waste and other problem materials, and find out how solid waste management began and where it’s headed.
