Letter – Hard for handicapped

To the editor:
Thumbs down to the planners and engineers that were in charge of redoing the parking lot behind St. Mary’s Catholic Church. They took away a lot of handicapped parking spaces and left literally no way to bring the elderly and persons with walkers, wheelchairs, canes, etc. close to the doors.
Trees were planted where a nice circular drive could have been provided. Although we do not belong to St. Mary’s Parish (we do enjoy going to Mass there on occasion) we can’t help but feel sorry for those who cannot get dropped off close to the doors, especially in inclement weather.
Hopefully in the near future they will consider redoing it again.
