Letter – Women are lovely, exceedingly valued
Six or seven years ago I wrote three letters to this newspaper about beautiful women. The clippings of these writings are up in a folder on a shelf somewhere. It has been an interesting journey since then as I have pondered this happy subject.

We have been acculturated (by the left) in an effort to promote equality, to leave unacknowledged true physical beauty, in the mistaken view that this recognition will denigrate all other women. Appreciating the superb mastery of Edna St. Vincent Milet’s poetry does not diminish, however, the poesy in the local free press. Truly beautiful women are truly beautiful and so much is this the case that it can be said that truth can be found here.
Beautiful women are the most beautiful of all beautiful things. Sunsets and flowers and little children are delightful of course, as are paintings and the faces of the ones we love. It is universally right to say that beauty is different to each of us and for me to say that “beautiful women are the most beautiful of all beautiful things” is strictly personal, is certainly accurate.
Yet I contend that my proposition, just stated, is in essence, recognized everywhere by all. I was in the grocery store today talking hot rods with a couple of guys with hot rod jackets. I mentioned pretty girls with cars and their faces lit up instantaneously, instinctively.
Helen Gurley Brown, the former editor of Cosmopolitan magazine, once commented that they had run photo spreads of male pulchritude and these issues never sold as well as the issues with beautiful women on the cover. Her take on this phenomenon was, “Everyone loves a pretty girl.”
Beautiful women, you are lovely and exceedingly valued. Thanks to all of you for the great riches you give to the world.
