Letter – Choices have consequences

Dennis Murphy’s letter was entitled “Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs.” That is true. Because God created us with a free will, we can make choices.

To the editor:

Dennis Murphy’s letter was entitled “Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs.” That is true. Because God created us with a free will, we can make choices. God’s word is truth. It tells us that God created everything, step by step. Man’s creation was special. God formed Adam out of the dust of the Earth and breathed into him the breath of life.

Throughout human history, people have been rebelling against God’s authority. They want to do it their own way and don’t want to do it God’s way.

Darwin did not believe in God or the Bible. His theory is in opposition to what the Bible teaches.

Adam and Eve were created perfect, not evolved. Since they sinned against God, all mankind is under the curse of sin. They could no longer have close fellowship with their creator. It was because of God’s great love for man that he sent his son, Jesus Christ, to pay the penalty for all sin. We are now celebrating his death and resurrection.

Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to the father except through me.” Each must make the choice to repent and accept him or reject this salvation he offers.

God says those who are against him will be sent to hell with the devil and his angels for eternal punishment. Yes, we choose what to believe. Choices have consequences for eternity.
