Skaters compete

The Alexandria Figure Skating Club (AFSC) was represented by 15 skaters during the 16th annual Battle of the Blades competition at the Runestone Community Center.

    The Alexandria Figure Skating Club was represented by 15 skaters during the 16th annual Battle of the Blades competition last Saturday. Competing in the event were (back, left to right) Allison Wood, Megan Bristow, (third row) Ramsey Burss, Ember Willard, Elisabeth Thorson, Whitney Olson, Gretchen Majerus, Brindy Boelens, (second row) Madisen Hall, Olivia Rice, Misha Harsted, (front) AnaLea Sheets, Dominique Eddy, Bailey Schaefer and Hailey Hansen.

The Alexandria Figure Skating Club (AFSC) was represented by 15 skaters during the 16th annual Battle of the Blades competition at the Runestone Community Center. Battle of the Blades is a U.S. Figure “Skate with Us” competition designed to promote a positive competition experience for the beginner skater. Skaters compete in compulsory, freeskate and interpretive events.

AFSC Ice Review

The Alexandria Figure Skating Club will hold its 30th anniversary Ice Revue, “Celebrate Good Times,” on Friday, April 17, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 18, at 1 p.m.

Special guest skater will be Kiri Baga from the Figure Skating Club of Bloomington.

She was the 2009 winner of the novice division in the U.S. Figure Skating championships in Cleveland, Ohio.

Alumni skaters will also be featured in the revue.
