Douglas County and most of west central and central Minnesota remains under a winter storm warning today, Tuesday, although the snowfall amounts are expected to be less than earlier predicted.
Between 5 and 9 inches of accumulation is now expected to develop this morning and into the afternoon hours, according to the National Weather Service. That's about 10 inches less snow than the earlier forecast. Heavier snows remained mainly over eastern South Dakota and southeastern North Dakota last night.
A winter storm warning means severe winter weather conditions are expected or are occurring, making travel dangerous.
