Schneider Junior Olympic competitor

Alexandria’s Jack Schneider, 11, competed against 100 of the best 11- and 12-year-old alpine skiers from the upper Midwest, Colorado and New Mexico in the US Ski Association’s central region Junior Olympics alpine ski races at Winter Park in Colorado March 17-21. The Alexandria skier finished 37th in the super giant slalom, 43rd in the giant slalom and 55th in the slalom. Schneider qualified for the event at a competition in Marquette, Michigan, where he placed 22nd in the giant slalom and 29th in the slalom. Schneider was competing in a field of 65 11- and 12-year-olds. He attends 5thgrade at Washington Elementary School and trains at Andes Tower Hills.
