'Terrific Kids' recognized for volunteer efforts

Sixth graders at Lincoln, Voyager, Zion and Washington elementary schools in Alexandria and Garfield Elementary School were recently named Terrific Kids.

Sixth graders at Lincoln, Voyager, Zion and Washington elementary schools in Alexandria and Garfield Elementary School were recently named Terrific Kids.

Terrific Kids is an elementary program of Kiwanis International. Kids who improve themselves and do good things for others in school, at home and in the community are recognized with a Certificate of Achievement.

Top achievers also receive a business award from one of several business sponsors. Their pictures are on display at the Viking Plaza Mall.

At Lincoln, 27 kids received Certificates of Achievement with 14 receiving business/volunteer awards, including Sebastian Ahumada, Jack Bergerson, Courtney Bitzan, Carl Branch, Eric Branch, Jared Davis, Kyle Elfering, Payton Grandgenett, Megan Hanson, Zach Johnson, Austin Ressemann, Johnny Salto, Cody Weisel and Lucas White.

At Voyager, 45 kids received Certificates of Achievement with 15 receiving business/volunteer awards, including Annika Aanenson, Tristen Chamberlin, Chase Childers, Kodi Dosdall, Jennie Eng, Wesley Graves, Alex Johnson, Katelyn Lancaster, Kate LeBrasseur, McKenna Petrie, Jennifer Randall, Bria Schueler, Dayton Stanbra, Steven Taillefer and Haley Wagner.

At Washington, 43 kids received Certificates of Achievement with 15 receiving business/volunteer awards, including Sam Carlson, Riley doty, Alison Flesner, Tyler Floding, Valerie Hanson, Christopher Leary, Tristan Johnson, Mason Matson, Anna Peterson, Madeline Peterson, Christian Reimers, Parker Revering, Brooke Rinicker, McKenzie Saathoff and Chelsey Swanson.

At Zion, 11 kids received Certificates of Achievement with five receiving business/volunteer awards, including David Anderson, Emily Martinson, Daniel Roers, Emily Safarik and Ashley Wussow.

At Garfield, 13 students received Certificates of Achievement with five receiving business/volunteer awards, including Jesse Groettum, Dylan Kriese, Madison Revering, Anna Sandmeier and Halley Score.

In March, 132 students were recognized as Terrific Kids with 69 parents attending the five award ceremonies.
