Angeline “Angie” Dunn, 92, Osakis, entered the peace of Heaven on Friday morning, March 13, 2009 at Community Memorial Home in Osakis.
Angeline was born January 25, 1917 in Leslie Township, Todd County, to Adam and Elizabeth (Housen) Ritter. She attended country school and on June 29, 1937 she was united in holy matrimony to Thomas J. Dunn in Osakis. They farmed for many years and Angie also worked for the Fingerhut Company in Sauk Centre. She worked for a couple of years in the laundry department at the Memorial Home and then took a job working with the disabled in an area R.E.M. home. A few years after Tom’s death in 1986, Angie moved into the Manor Apartments in Osakis.
Angie was a member of the Immaculate Conception parish and belonged to the Christian Mothers and the Daughters of Isabella. She also volunteered her time helping out at St. Agnes School and the Community Memorial Home. Angie had many hobbies, but her favorite was playing cards. She belonged to several card groups and kept busy playing cards almost every day of the week. From bridge to poker, she could play all types of games, but her favorite was probably whist. Other things she enjoyed were going dancing, bowling, fishing and traveling. She was an avid baseball fan and kept busy while watching the game crocheting or knitting a project to share with friends or family. Angie was a wonderful cook and famous for her chocolate chip and molasses cookies. She was a kind and caring mother, grandma and sister who will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Eleanor (Robert) Zimmel of Pipe Creek, Texas, Michael (Dorothy) Dunn of Alexandria, Sandra (Dale) Waldvogel of Osakis, Patrick (Marlene) Dunn of Nelson, Daniel (Lynda) Dunn of Champlin, Dick (Paulette) Dunn of Osakis; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; 10 great-stepgrandchildren; one great-great-stepgrandson; two sisters, Lorraine Quigley of Woodbury and Patricia (Rolla) Bryant of Ocala, FL; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
