A night of fun awaits at Runestone Museum

The Runestone Museum in downtown Alexandria will present its third annual “A Night at the Runestone Museum.”

The event will take place this Friday, March 20 from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Tickets are $25 per person with all proceeds going toward adding technology to the “Discovery Room” inside the Runestone Museum.

This year’s featured guest is Dr. Richard Nielsen, who will engage in casual conversation about the 3-D imaging project that was conducted on the Kensington Runestone in October of last year.

Nielsen is a linguistic expert who has been studying the Runestone for years. He was in charge of the 3-D imaging project.

Runestone Museum manager Julie Blank labeled “A Night at the Runestone Museum” as “a fun night of networking, hors d’oeuvres, wine and beer at the Runestone Museum.”

Food and beverages for the evening are courtesy of Arrowwood Resort, Sixth Avenue Wine and Ale, Eddy’s Interlachen Inn, and the waitstaff is courtesy of Garden Center.

The museum has also partnered with Midway Cinema 9 for this event and for every ticket sold, guests will receive one free pass good for one admission to A Night at the Museum 2, which will be showing at the theater starting May 22.

Advance tickets for the March 20 event are strongly encouraged and can be purchased at the Runestone Musuem – either by calling (320) 763-3160 or stopping in to the museum at 206 Broadway. Tickets are also available at both Bremer Bank locations as well as Neighborhood National Bank.

Student – $10: This includes one-year free admission; 17 and younger non-voting member; special events during the year.

Individual – $25: This includes one-year free admission; museum newsletter and 20 percent gift shop discount.

Family – $50: This includes one-year free admission for two adults and children younger than 17; museum newsletter and 20 percent gift shop discount.

Business Booster – $75: This includes one-year free admission for two adults; museum newsletter; 20 percent gift shop discount; and booster sign for display in the business.

Sustaining – $100: This includes one-year free admission for two adults; museum newsletter; 20 percent gift shop discount; and two complimentary one-time guest passes.

Patron – $500: This includes one-year free admission for two adults; museum newsletter; 20 percent gift shop discount; six complimentary one-time guest passes; and name listed on plaque in museum lobby.

Corporate – $1,000: This includes one-year free admission for two adults; museum newsletter; 20 percent gift shop discount; 10 complimentary one-time guest passes; and name listed on plaque in museum lobby.
