•David and Brenda Velde of the Velde Law Firm, Ltd. in Alexandria recently named Logan Moore as a partner in the law firm. The law firm name will be changed to Velde Moore, Ltd.

Moore joined the law firm in 2001 and continues to focus his practice on bankruptcy matters. He graduated from Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul in 2001 and completed his state bar requirements over the summer of 2001.

Moore is licensed to practice in Minnesota, in the Federal District Court of Minnesota and the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals. He is also a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Douglas County Bar Association, where he is serving as president, and the Hamline University Alumni Association.

•Larson Insurance in Alexandria announces that Mickey Larson has joined its staff as a licensed insurance agent and sales professional.

He is a graduate of Jefferson High School and Alexandria Technical College with a degree in professional sales. He has been in design and sales at Alexandria United Building Center since 1999. He has taken that knowledge into the property and casualty insurance field.

•The Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin Lakes and Pines recently held its annual meeting and recognition celebration in Brainerd.

About 225 people attended to elect new board members, discuss council issues and vote on new proposals.

Ruth Molloy of Alexandria was appointed member-at-large for 2009-2010. She is an assistant vice president and trust officer with Bremer Investment Management and Trust in Alexandria. She assists her clients with managing their finances, investments, and retirement accounts.

Molloy has been involved with leading Cub Scout packs and Boy Scout Troop 418. She spent five years as a parent of a Brownie, then Junior Girl Scout, has been teaching religious education classes at St. Mary’s in Alexandria since 1997, and worked with Junior Achievement in the classroom for five years.

•Board-certified dermatologist Rachel Schuneman, M.D., from CentraCare Clinic in St. Cloud will begin seeing patients one day per month at Broadway Medical Center, 1527 Broadway in Alexandria, starting March 13.

Dr. Schuneman is a 1987 graduate of Jefferson High School in Alexandria. She completed her medical degree and her dermatology residency at the University of Minnesota. She worked in Alexandria prior to joining CentraCare in 2006.

•Chad Buseman has joined Design Tree Engineering in Alexandria as a drafting technician.

He graduated in 2008 with an associate’s degree in mechanical drafting. His responsibilities include drafting of plumbing and mechanical systems for commercial and industrial facilities. He lives in Alexandria with his fiancée, Sarah, and his 6-year-old son, Ashten.
