Students in grades kindergarten through 12 at New Testament School in Alexandria were part of an attempt to make it into the Guiness Book of World Records for the most people reading aloud simultaneously. In celebration of Abraham Lincoln’s 200th birthday, on February 12 at 9:30 a.m., students at New Testament joined Lincoln fans and schoolchildren across the nation as they simultaneously read aloud the Gettysburg Address. The school will be notified by the end of March if their efforts broke the record, which is 223,363 participants reading aloud at once.
