Alexandria gymnasts fall to ninth-ranked Melrose
The Cardinals will now travel to the section meet February 21
The ninth ranked Melrose gymnastics team was too much for Alexandria on Tuesday night as the Dutchmen earned a 137.075-115.025 win in their final home meet of the season.
Sarah Dolan and Sarah Sater earned third and fourth-place finishes, respectively, in the all-around. Dolan put together 30.9 points, while Sater amassed 30.2 points for the Cardinals.
Sater and Mallory Stier finished tied for the high team’s high score on vault with an 8.55. Sater also finished first for Alexandria on the beam, while Dolan had team-high finishes on the bars and the floor routine.
The Cardinal gymnasts will now prepare for the section meet, which is set for February 21 at 5 p.m. at St. Cloud Tech.
