Scott was born December 24, 1965 in Watertown, South Dakota to Thomas and Dorothy (Hillestad) Shriver. He moved with his family to Montgomery, Minnesota and graduated high school in 1984. He served his country in the U.S. Army, spending two of his four years in Korea. He was married April 7, 1990 to Beverly Glisczinski and they had three sons. They lived in Shakopee while Scott worked for a distribution center. Scott next went to work for a tire company.
He later moved to Alexandria and was divorced in 2004. Scott currently worked as a route driver for Wonder Bread. Three years ago Scott fell in love with Missy Hansen and they moved to an apartment in Osakis. In 2008 they bought a home. In June, Scott was diagnosed with acute leukemia and they have spent the last eight months at the University of Minnesota and Hope Lodge as he battled this disease.
Scott was a great cook who enjoyed trying out new recipes. He also liked to raise fresh vegetables in his garden. In his free time, Scott liked to get out fishing and bowling. He enjoyed people and appreciated any chance to get together with his many friends. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Blessed be his memory.
Scott is survived by his parents, Tom and Dorothy Shriver of Montgomery; his soul mate, Missy Hansen of Osakis; children, Joshua, Kyle and Matthew Shriver of Alexandria, Kurt Hansen of Fargo, ND, Kyle Hansen and Kasey Wiener of Osakis; one granddaughter, Mia Hansen; two brothers, Gordon (Connie) Shriver and Mark Shriver, all of Montgomery; a sister, Loretta (Virgil) Engel of Blue Earth; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and a brother, Ronald Shriver.
A Mass of Resurrection was held Saturday, February 7 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osakis with Fr. Dick McGuire officiating. Interment services were Sunday afternoon at Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery. Pallbearers were Tony, Jason and Nick Engel, Corey Shriver, Doug Kasper and Jeff Quistorff.
