Fargo Moorhead Youth Symphony Orchestra concert set for Sunday

Central Square Cultural and Civic Center in Glenwood is proud to present the Fargo Moorhead Youth Symphony Orchestra in concert this Sunday. The event will take place February 8 at 3 p.m. in the historic auditorium.

Central Square Cultural and Civic Center in Glenwood is proud to present the Fargo Moorhead Youth Symphony Orchestra in concert this Sunday. The event will take place February 8 at 3 p.m. in the historic auditorium.

This fantastic group of more than 100 talented senior high musicians will perform a repertoire of classical and popular symphonic music, including a tuba solo.

The instruments involved in the symphony orchestra concert include violins, bass violins, violas, cellos, flutes, piccolos, oboes, clarinets, bass clarinets, bassoons, horns, trumpets, trombones, tuba, timpani/percussion and keyboard.

The students are under the direction of Jane Linde Capistran, assistant concertmaster of the Fargo Moorhead Symphony, and a violinist herself.

Tickets and reserved seating for the concert are available by calling Central Square at (320) 634-0400 or toll free at 1-866-497-0400. Admission is $3 for students of all ages and $15 for adults. There is a family ticket special, which includes admission for two adults with two or more students for $30. There will be a pizza party back stage following the concert for all area student musicians to meet the members of the Fargo Moorhead Youth Symphony Orchestra and share their passion for playing their instruments.This program is made possible in part by a grant from the Lake Region Arts Council with funding from the Minnesota State Legislature.
