Karla Mikkelson of Alexandria, a graphic designer with the Echo Press, was named the first place winner in the Minnesota Newspaper Association’s advertising campaign promoting newspaper readership contest.
Newspaper professionals from throughout the state who attended the MNA annual convention in Bloomington voted on the winners.
Mikkelson’s campaign focused on newspapers continuing to be the leading source that people turn to for everything they need to know. Her series of ads conveyed the message that newspapers are loyal and give you real response and the results you can trust.
Mikkelson’s ads, along with the second and third place winners, will be distributed to all Minnesota newspapers during 2009 as a promotional strategy.
This marked the fourth time that Mikkelson has placed in the contest in four years.
