Man hospitalized in crash near Doolittle's remains in stable condition
A Glenwood man was sent to the hospital with possible head injuries after his vehicle collided with another shortly after 10 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 29 South and Dakota Street.
A Glenwood man hospitalized Thursday in a two-vehicle crash near Doolittle’s restaurant in Alexandria remains in stable condition, Douglas County Hospital officials said Friday.
Vern Maanum, 81, was sent to the hospital with possible head injuries after his vehicle collided with another shortly after 10 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 29 South and Dakota Street.
Maanum was traveling southbound on Highway 29 in his 1996 Ford pickup when he crashed into another truck heading northbound while trying to make a left turn onto Dakota Street, according to the police report.
Timothy Lang, 23, of Alexandria, was driving the second vehicle, a 2001 Chevy Silverado, which was pulling an enclosed trailer
The police report said the crash occurred in the northbound lane of Highway 29.
Lang reported possible injuries, but was not transported to the hospital, according to the report.
Assisting the Alexandria Police Department at the scene were the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Patrol.
