Letter – Time to put aside fears of Barack Obama
Barack Obama is a highly intelligent man who is devoted to his wife and children, and I’m confident he will do the best he can coming into an unprecedented economic crisis and a world riddled with conflict.
To the editor:
Barack Obama is a highly intelligent man who is devoted to his wife and children, and I’m confident he will do the best he can coming into an unprecedented economic crisis and a world riddled with conflict. As long as our country allows big business to call the shots, I don’t expect any leader to have much impact.
This country’s history is not without blemish and ranges from stealing the lands of Native Americans, building an entire economy by enslaving human beings and being the only country to ever use an atomic bomb. The brutal history of the world includes the Crusades, the Inquisition, the Holocaust, genocide and far too many wars.
So it would seem to me quite unlikely and bordering on the absurd to believe that this man, in the span of four or eight years, could be the undoing of the human race. Isn’t it time to put aside fear and rumors and do whatever we can to see humanity progress and the world become a better place? In my life I have found that peace and the experience of heaven on Earth lies just beyond fear.
