Jeffersonian – Hoping for a greener Alexandria
Before winter hit and the ground was covered with snow, students from Mr. Smith’s environmental science class took on some projects.
Before winter hit and the ground was covered with snow, students from Mr. Smith’s environmental science class took on some projects. One group, including students (pictured left to right) John Dero, Grant Gilbertson, Shannon Thoennes, Ashley Aurdahl, Larissa Lake, Kyle Hanson and Casey Lambert, picked up trash around school grounds. Lake said, “We found that most of the garbage was fast-food bags. On the side of the road we also found pop and beer cans and tobacco products. We chose this issue to make people aware. We started here and now hope the awareness will spread so we can make Alexandria a greener place.”
