Six players from the recent Alexandria area Elks Free Throw “Hoop Shoot” contest will be moving on to the central district shoot later this month.

Brandon Bistideau (12-13), Zach Harstad (10-11) and Carter Stockert (8-9) all won their respective age groups to advance for the boys. Karly Ann Betterman (12-13), Macy Hatlestad (10-11) and Francesca Palmer (8-9) were the sharp shooters on the girls’ side to advance to the district competition.

All six players will travel to Wadena on January 31 to take part in the shoot at the Wadena-Deer Creek High School gymnasium.

Trophies will be awarded to the first and second-place shooters immediately following the contest. First-place winners will also advance to the State “Hoop Shoot” Contest. The state shoot will be held in Hutchinson on Saturday, February 21.
