Former Card players on college women's hockey teams
A number of former Alexandria girls’ hockey seniors responsible for helping the Cardinals to their first-ever state tournament title are seeing ice time as freshmen at the collegiate level.
Abby Williams has played in all 18 games for Minnesota State University-Mankato. She has scored one goal and assisted on one as she gets accustomed to Division I hockey.
Ashley Holmes is also adjusting to life at the Division I level with the University of North Dakota. Holmes has played in all 18 games for the Fighting Sioux. She has five assists on the year with 14 shots on goal.
Caitlin Murphy has three assists and has played in all 30 games for the Minnesota Crunch women’s hockey team. The Crunch is a development program in Grand Rapids that helps to prepare players with aspirations of playing at the college level.
