REA to hold meetings to nominate directors

In accordance with the bylaws of Runestone Electric Association, district meetings will be held on January 14 and 15.

In accordance with the bylaws of Runestone Electric Association, district meetings will be held on January 14 and 15.

District 2 will meet on Wednesday, January 14 at 2 p.m. at the Millerville American Legion. The district includes townships in the northern portion of Runestone Electric’s service territory, including Brandon, Ida, Millerville, Leaf Valley, Leaf Mountain and Effington townships.

District 5 will meet on Thursday, January 15 at 2 p.m. in the Runestone Electric Association office at 7th and Fillmore in downtown Alexandria. The district includes LaGrand, Alexandria and Belle River townships.

The purpose of this meeting will be to nominate one or more candidates for the office of director of the cooperative. Candidates may also be nominated by petition of 15 or more members within 15 days of the district meeting date. Members of this district may vote on the candidates at the annual meeting on Saturday, March 28, or by using the mail ballot provided with their annual meeting materials.

Current District 2 Director Charlie Wodash has announced that he will not seek reelection. Wodash has served on the board for 15 years. Members of District 2 interested in serving on the Runestone Electric Board are encouraged to contact the cooperative for more information on director qualifications.

Reports will be made by management and door prizes will be awarded. Refreshments will be served following the meeting.

Runestone Electric Association is a member-owner cooperative serving more than 13,000 members in the rural areas of Douglas, Pope, Grant, Stevens, Otter Tail, Stearns and Todd counties.
