New Year's baby arrives
And the first Douglas County baby born in 2009 is…Avery Ness.
And the first Douglas County baby born in 2009 is…Avery Ness. The daughter of Ashley and William Ness Jr. of Garfield, Avery was delivered at the Douglas County Hospital on Saturday, January 3. She weighed 7 and a half pounds and was 21 and a quarter inches tall. As it has done in the past, the Alexandria VFW Auxiliary, represented by president Cecilia Haffner (left), gave the New Year’s baby an infant car seat. The gift coincides nicely with the Ness’ wish for Avery in the coming year – good health.
