Winter storm warning changed to weather advisory

The winter storm warning that had been issued for Douglas County today has been changed to a winter weather advisory.

Total daytime accumulations for today, Saturday, are still expected to be significant, ranging from three to seven inches, according to the National Weather Service.

The swath of snow runs from Alexandria to Lake Mille Lacs.

Snow will continue tonight with areas of blowing snow, mainly before 9 p.m. More blowing snow is forecast after midnight with low temperatures plunging to 8-below-zero and wind chills dripping to as low as 30-below. More snow accumulation is also possible tonight.

Patchy, blowing snow is expected before noon on Sunday. Wind chill values are expected to remain between 20 and 30-below.
