Letter - Blessed by generosity

On behalf of the Jingle Bells Foundation and the Alexandria Jaycees, we want to thank everyone who helped make the 59th annual Jingle Bells telethon such a huge success.

To the editor:

On behalf of the Jingle Bells Foundation and the Alexandria Jaycees, we want to thank everyone who helped make the 59th annual Jingle Bells telethon such a huge success. A special thank you goes out to the dedicated staff at KSAX-TV, Lake Geneva Christian Center for hosting the telethon and H. Boyd Nelson, Inc. for generously hosting the distribution of baskets.

More than $138,000 was raised this year. This money will be used to pay for not only the 1,000+ food and toy baskets, but will also help with contributions to 10 area food shelves and for families with various hardship cases that occur over the next 12 months.

Despite the difficult weather conditions, nearly 200 people braved the winter storm and helped package and deliver the baskets. This kind of sacrifice and dedication makes us proud to be a part of Jingle Bells.

So many businesses, organizations, individuals and volunteers have made this possible and we are truly grateful to have those relationships. The combination of volunteers, donations and pledges is greatly appreciated and will make this holiday season very special for thousands of people. It cannot be said enough how humbled we are to be blessed by your generosity and caring. Together we can make a difference not only during the holiday season, but throughout the year!

Chris Uhde,

on behalf of

Foundation
