Letter - Trust in the power of Jesus

It was John Kenneth Galbraith who said, “Nothing is so admirable in politics as a short memory.” The elections are over and hopefully the newly elected officials are prepared for the task ahead of them.

To the editor:

It was John Kenneth Galbraith who said, “Nothing is so admirable in politics as a short memory.” The elections are over and hopefully the newly elected officials are prepared for the task ahead of them. But, we shouldn’t place too much power in their hands. Rather we should trust the power of Jesus. We should be prepared to have faith in Jesus’ reign. We can pray for our new leaders while we strengthen our closeness to Christ and be prepared to follow him.

Bob Orben once said, “It isn’t easy being a woman politician because you never get away from work. You spend all day in Congress. Then you go home, wash your hair, turn on the dryer – and it’s more hot air.”

Proverbs 8:15-16 says, “By wisdom kings reign and rulers decree what is just, by wisdom rulers rule, and nobles, all govern lightly.”
