Name released of victim involved in fatal crash near Brandon

An 88-year-old man from Brandon died following a two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon on County Road 82 less than one mile east of Brandon.

The crash, which took place shortly before 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, involved a tanker truck and a car.

When emergency crews arrived on scene, the driver of the car, Leslie Norman Hermanson, was deceased, according to authorities. Reportedly, the two vehicles hit head on. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

County Road 82 from Central Avenue in Brandon to County Road 56 was closed for more than an hour due to the accident.

Responding to the scene were Douglas County Sheriff's Office, State Patrol, Brandon Fire Department and First Responders and North Ambulance.
