It was another successful year for the annual Jaycees Jingle Bells Telethon.
As of Monday afternoon, the total amount raised from the event was $138,200, according to Jaycee member and one of this year’s organizers, Alicia Klimek.
“Despite the wind and snow, everything went beautifully,” said Klimek.
The telethon itself seemed to go off without a hitch, unlike Sunday for the basket delivery.
Klimek noted that all the routes were spoken for, however, not all baskets were delivered because of the wicked wintry weather.
“We ask that everyone be patient as the baskets will be delivered this week and into the weekend,” she said.
She noted that the Jaycees ordered enough food to fill 1,050 baskets and that all baskets will be delivered to families in Douglas County and surrounding areas.
