Scott Matthew Loken, 22, died December 7, 2008 as the result of an automobile accident in Faribault.
Scott was born June 2, 1986 in Alexandria to Kevin and Connie (Iverson) Loken. Scott was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Alexandria. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 2004 and then continued his education by graduating from the Concrete and Masonry Program at Alexandria Technical College. After college he moved to Owatonna and worked for Met-Con Company as a bricklayer for the last four years.
Scott met the love of his life, Megan Hansen, through friends in July 2003 and they lived together in Owatonna. Scott liked most sports and played basketball, baseball and tennis in high school. He also was on a bowling league and liked to golf and fish. One of Scott’s favorite pastimes was building and running demolition derby cars during the Douglas County Fair and also watching the races at the Viking Speedway. Scott played horseshoes with his friend, Tony Sides, and recently started playing ping-pong. Scott was a prankster and liked to tease his little cousins. He had a good sense of humor and was kindly nicknamed Shrek by the children of his friends. He was a kind and loving son, brother, nephew and boyfriend. Scott will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his parents, Kevin and Connie Loken of Alexandria; brothers, David Loken and girlfriend, Laura Hoke, of Fargo, ND, Jeff Loken of Alexandria; sister, Katie Loken of Alexandria; love of his life, Megan Hansen of Owatonna; uncles, Larry Loken of Franklin, Rick Hempel of Morton, Galen Hempel of Clearwater, Dennis and Diane Iverson of Plymouth, Gary and Pam Iverson of Redwood Falls; aunts, Joyce Hempel of Slayton, Connie Beaulieu of Cass Lake, Joann and Doug Mude of Redwood Falls, Carol and Steve Woulfe of Oakdale; good friend, James Kracht of Morris; goddaughter, Sydney Kracht of Morris; Megan’s family, Joel and Kay Hansen of Medford, Jake Hansen of Hastings, Kaylee Hansen of Medford; and many cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, three aunts and three uncles.
The funeral service for Scott was held Thursday, December 11 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Alexandria with the Rev. Michael Neumann officiating. Jolene Subrowsky played the organ and Greg and Connie Wales sang special songs. Interment was at Geneva Cemetery. Casket bearers were Steve Woulfe, Dennis Iverson, Brad Franklin, James Kracht, Tony Sides and Doug Mude. Honorary casket bearers were Larry Loken, Gary Iverson, Randy Kracht, Joey Iverson, Jeremy Kaiser, Galen Hempel and Rick Hempel.
