One solution: Sign them up for programs offered through the Alexandria Area YMCA.
Here is more information about upcoming programs:
• Pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and 1st and 2nd grade indoor soccer.
This program will allow your child to learn new moves, skills, and games while enjoying the game of soccer.
Dates: Saturdays, December 6 through January 24 (no practice on December 27).
Location: Luther Crest (8231 County Rd 11 NE).
Time (and cost): Pre-K and kindergarten – 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. ($26.25); 1st and 2nd grade – 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. ($35). T-shirt and medals included.
• Pre-kindergarten and kindergarten beginning basketball.
Dates: Wednesdays, January 7 through February 18.
Time: 6:15 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Location: Washington Elementary School.
Cost: $26.25 includes T-shirt and medal.
• Cool Christmas crafts and snacks.
The YMCA will be making creative crafts that children can keep for themselves or give away as a Christmas gift.
Date: Saturday, December 13.
Time: 1 to 3 p.m.
Location: YMCA Office (901 Highway 29 North, Suite 206 next to McDonald’s North).
